Hello Newmanites and Friends of The Wayne State Newman Catholic Center!
This is your friendly neighborhood Phoebe!
Classes have started and we’re getting ramped up for some great stuff coming up! Our normal hours will continue to be 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday and Sunday from 3 PM to 8 PM!
We’ve got some awesome things planned for this year – including our Blessing and Dedication on September 29th which will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, and following that, our FIRST ever retreat in late September!
Check out what is going on at the Newman!

The Blessing and Dedication
Thursday September 29th 2016
4pm to 9pm
Join us as we celebrate the blessing of our NEW space! Archbishop Allen Vigneron and President M. Roy Wilson will be joining us at our blessing and dedication and our ribbon cutting ceremony.
If you are not really sure what Catholicism is all about, or if you sometimes just feel like you are just going through the motions and aren’t sure why, it’s time to renew your faith and take a breath of fresh air with our faith studies! Regardless of where you are in your faith journey, you can always develop a deeper relationship with God! So if you interested in learning more about your Faith – or deepening your relationship with God and Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, join in one of our CCO faith studies! You can join at the CCO site and look for Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Click here to register for a faith study or go to http://www.ccofaithstudies.ca/. No need to conform to a strict schedule we match you up with a faith leader who will be available at the same time you are and Faith Studies are only 6 weeks long!
From my own experience, this is a GREAT way to grow in your faith, a great way for you to meet more people and more like-minded individuals and make some great friends.

New Ground Rules for The Renovated Space
We want to keep our new space as neat and clean as possible, but we’ll need each of YOU to help us out with that – we’re all responsible adults anyway!
1. Please help us keep it clean by cleaning up if there is a spill,
and please rinse or wash any cups, bowls or other things that you might have used and putting them in the dish washer! We will start the dish washer once it is full at the end of each day! Also if you want to help out, feel free to put away the dishes in our cabinets!
2. Please also remember no food or drink is allowed in the chapel!
3. Please don’t move the furniture – or if you do, PLEASE please please move it back! 🙂
Overall, it’s pretty simple but basically we ask that everyone treats our space as you would treat your own home and take care of it! If possible, please leave the space you occupy cleaner than when you sat down in it!
If you would like to receive updated about special events and Newman Volunteer opportunities, please join our text alert system by sending the code wsucatholic to the number 84576!
Thank you, guys and God Bless!
– Phoebe 🙂
